Welcome, and congratulations on taking a step toward personal growth. Asking for help can be so hard, so please know that I see this as a significant strength on your part.  Life can be wonderful and beautiful, but we all go through pain at some point.  From my own personal journey, I have come to embrace the truth that every obstacle is an opportunity to grow mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.  I function with an unwavering belief at the core of my practice: Change happens.  In fact, the only true barrier to change is ourselves.  I believe that empowerment is the key to making this change sustainable.

I see myself as not just a therapist, but an advocate, a coach, a teacher, a partner.  My job is to create a compassionate, authentic, warm, non-judgemental, and empowering place from which you can heal and grow.  Over the past decade, I have worked with a variety of populations, from Substance Abuse to Schizophrenia. For several years, I served as Program Director for a nonprofit organization dedicated to advocating and providing assistance to individuals with serious mental illnesses who could not afford treatment.

I use evidence based practices in all of my work. I use various modalities, however, I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which focuses on the relationship between our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in order to create positive change.  In short, our thoughts determine our feelings which determine our behaviors. It's easy to personalize negative circumstances and engage in negative self-talk, which affects our mood and actions. It's like wearing a cloudy pair of glasses through which we perceive everything in our lives. One of my goals is to help you clean those glasses so that you can see things more clearly and begin the journey toward who you would like to become.

Welcome!

Over the past 10 years, I have worked as a therapist in a wide variety of settings, with a passion to maximize my understanding of the human mind. I believe that most people have the ability to achieve at an exponentially higher level than they realize. Unfortunately, many cannot conceptualize this potential and, in turn, end up settling in their lives. What can be even more discouraging, is when a person knows they are capable of achieving at a higher level, but lacks the direction, motivation, or insight on how to get there. I repeatedly see this effect in my work; I see people settling in all dynamics of their lives: careers, relationships, finances, appearances, etc. 

Our process

Over the course of my work I have encountered a growing number of individuals who felt stuck in their lives. As a life coach and therapist, I give my clients an outside perspective on their life and help them become unstuck and push them toward creating a life of happiness and fulfillment.

First, I strive to create a relationship based on honesty and clear communication. The more I know about my client, the more effective we can be in our work together. We all have strengths and weaknesses; too often, we focus on our weaknesses instead of allowing our strengths to shine. 

Should we choose to work together, we will engage in a collaborative process; we will identify your wants, needs, and desires. As a result of this process, we are then able to establish a realistic and achievable game plan to reach those goals. I truly believe that you can achieve the life you dream of if you are willing to put in the effort. Many times in life, we know what we want but we do not have the motivation, drive, or direction to get there. As a life coach, I will teach you how to cultivate that passion and motivation so that you can not only live the life you want, but you can transcend beyond what you ever imagined.
